It fosters lasting change by empowering communities and promoting education, focusing especially on areas of greatest need, such as poor communities, children, vulnerable adults and marginalised groups. It works in areas devastated by disasters and engages with global issues such as HIV, conflict and climate change. It focuses on life’s essentials, such as food, livelihoods, healthcare and clean water.
Tearfund says: “We’re following Jesus where need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people’s potential and helping them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves.”
